"John has helped both of my sons to prepare for Maths exams. He first helped with A Level Maths and we were so pleased with results that we didn't hesitate to ask him to help again towards the new GCSE this year. My sons found him a good tutor who explains well and talks through problems. We would definitely recommend him."
Mrs W, Eastbourne
"Just to say John is a fantastic tutor. He seems to have that intuition to work students out and bring out the best in them. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds with John's guidance.
Thank you John."
Mrs P, Polegate, mother of daughter I taught for GCSE then on to A level
"John really helped with my maths a-level, he taught all the topics in a way that prepared me for exam style questions and we went through techniques on how to answer questions easily, would highly recommend."

Students have become more confident with their maths after my lessons, and parents have been equally pleased. I previously taught a pupil a topic which she could not remember learning, and by the end of the lesson, she was able to apply the concepts involved to different types of questions.
It is rewarding when students enjoy their learning, and develop their mathematical understanding and abilities. They can make good progress when they are able to focus on different topics in a one-to-one format at their own pace. I have a patient, relaxed manner, and a positive, encouraging approach.
All lessons are currently online using Zoom, last an hour and take place weekly. My tuition is interactive and adaptive to the student's needs. I ask that they have an A4 or A5 notebook for lessons, together with a ruler, squared or graph paper and a scientific calculator available.

My current hourly fees are:
